I'm fairly new to Blender myself. Are you using a sunlamp? If so, try turning the size down to get sharper shadows. I believe that would give you a more outdoors-y look. You can also use an HDRi map.
I've been watching some tutorials to help me with HDR lighting, and lighting in general. It's obviously very important in Blender, and this building is a pretty good model to practice on. I'll go turn down the size of my lamp because sharper shadows sound like it would improve this scene.
